Epic Home Haunts Poster

I was contacted by Epic Home Haunts because they needed key art to promote their documentary, and wanted it to have the feel of classic Disney attraction posters.
 

It needed to convey the juxtaposition of a normal suburban neighbourhood with a monstrous haunted mansion, so for inspiration I looked to Edward Scissorhands, as well as various Victorian mansions from the American West Coast.

From there I looked for ways to blend the eccentric Victorian architectural features with monster features to give each tower a uniquely monstrous but fun look.

I also kept adding in extra details to encourage people to take a closer look, so the neighbourhood became populated with cats, trick-or-treaters, pumpkins and a few loose monsters.
